The book is well written and extremely clever. The entries are enhanced by the stick figure illustrations. the concept of additions to the dictionary by readers is fodder for lonsome hikers.
This was a fun, quick read! I'm just a casual hiker but I love "the tongue in cheek" definitions. The writer lets you know in a humorous way,that things don't always go as planned. Good to read before hiking but also light enough to add to your backpack as a reference guide. The illustrations are simple but informative & add to the interest of the book.
I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions as I read this book by Matt Roane. He obviously knows about hiking and the crazy things that can happen to those of us involved in the sport. A great read!
